Newport Institute is a nationwide series of evidence-based healing treatment centers dedicated to transforming the lives of young adults and their families and loved ones struggling with mental health issues and co-occurring disorders, such as eating disorders and substance abuse. We treat young adults up to age 35 by empowering families, partnering with clinical professionals, and supporting them at this critical juncture in life. Newport gave me a safe and supportive environment to heal and grow. I learned how to deal with life in a healthy, positive manner and gained a sense of self-worth that I had never felt before. I learned that I am more than my mental health and addiction. That I am strong, worthy and loved. We offer a full range of programs, from residential to outpatient, including a virtual outpatient program and a robust Alumni Program after treatment. At Newport Institute, we nurture the physical, psychological, social, educational, and spiritual needs of young adults and their families. Measured using third-party research partners, our outcomes show that 100% of patients treated with our clinical model experience improvements in their mental health scores and well-being. On average, patients’ improvements exceeded levels of clinical significance. As the leading provider of behavioral healthcare for young adults in the US, Newport Institute provides access to the nation’s top clinical and medical experts. In addition to a psychiatrist, individual therapist, family therapist, and care coordinators, clients’ treatment teams may also include nurses, registered dietitians, recovery counselors, Adventure Therapists, music and art therapists, fitness experts, yoga and meditation instructors, and life skills coaches. By combining their talents and areas of expertise, our treatment teams create transformative care experiences with long-lasting impacts. Real, Data-Backed Results Our research shows statistically significant improvements in levels of depression, anxiety, and overall well-being. We use proprietary and industry-based assessment tools to measure the outcomes of our treatment for young people, utilizing an innovative clinical model developed over 12-plus years. Learn More

The therapist has too many clients between multiple houses. She is overwhelmed. They do not have a psychiatrist in house. They pay an outside person. They do not offer comprehensive evaluation or diagnosis. At 60k a month I suggest using your money/insurance someplace that does daily one on one therapy and invest in their clientele and employees. As a non profit they distribute money interestingly. The staff and care mean well. Healing does not happen here. My son has met several people in other treatment programs that graduated Newport with little to know benefit or change.

I am grateful for the wonderful experience I had at Newport Institute from September to November of 2020. This is a phenomenal facility and I received support from a wonderful staff. The location of the Sunol facility allowed us to take unique adventure therapy trips to local hiking trails, beaches, the zoo, and the San Francisco Art Museum.
